Zakaria El Baba

Zakaria El Baba is a social activist and a conflict transformation specialist with 8 years of experience in working on peace building projects with individuals from different backgrounds and cultures in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Iraq.

He is passionate about peace building, change and building acceptance. He graduated from university with a BA in MIS (Management Information Systems), attended courses on peace building at the Summer Peace building institute at EMU (Eastern Mennonite university) in Virginia – US. Zakaria is currently pursuing his Masters in Philosophy of Human Rights and Non-violence at the Academic University for Nonviolence and Human rights in the Arab World (AUNOHR) in Beirut, Lebanon. He also worked with different NGOs where he held different positions.

He started his work in the civil society as a volunteer where he found himself and his passion, thus he worked on himself to develop his skills and knowledge in this field, where he was able to engage in different projects and trainings. Zakaria’s work and specialty are in training and facilitating programs on active citizens, conflict transformation and peace building. He worked on various projects related to social cohesion which enabled him to gain experience in dealing with people from different cultures and backgrounds, especially youth.

Zakaria believes in creating a learning environment where people can share and exchange their experiences. He also has an interest in emotional intelligence and neuroscience where he constantly aspires to learn about it.
