The guide is divided into two parts.

  • The first sheds light on the Syrian experience and presents mediation stories from community activists who lived through conflict and mediation in their environments.
  • As for the second, it presents the results and conclusions of a critical review of different mediation schools and references, and an attempt to add a new theory of change specific to this guide, based on a transformative approach and theory of human needs and non-violent communication.
